for today’s post, i want to make it purrfectly clear how i feel about Panda Bear, my biological brofur. this short film sums it up well.

on the other paw, Padre is my cuddle buddy, and we love each other very much.

i believe that i speak on behalf of the furry bambinos when i say that Panda Bear can be a real PITT (pain in the tocks) sometimes.

After so many chatty posts about Mama Rose and her babies, I thought I would let the photos tell more of the story this time. The little brown tabby is Woody, and the orinch tabby in the litter box is Rusty. Sky (grey tabby) and Marigold (calico) are pictured later.

Sniff sniff …

“Hey, what are you doing back there?”

“I’m not quite done yet …”

“Do you mind?! I’d like some privacy!”

“Thank Bast, he left me alone!”

“He’s back …” Sigh … scratch scratch scratch …

Sniff sniff … scratch scratch scratch …

Sniff sniff …

Woody: “What would Rusty do without me?”

“Sky, cut it out!!!  Don’t you start in on me too!”

Yeah, brothers can be really annoying! Next time, Panda Bear is going to tell you about getting to meet the bebbehs in purrson!

So when Panda Bear challenged me to a staring contest, I said,

Bring it on!

We got started in the living room.

After awhile, Panda Bear started caterwauling at me to try to intimidate me.  Even though he weighs about two pounds more than me, I know I can give him the smackdown.

So I kept on staring.

Next Panda Bear added the “paw lift” maneuver.  You know the one.  PB continued staring and caterwauling at me, and then lifted his right front paw off the floor and waved it around, in a feeble attempt to appear menacing.

I kept right on staring.

Eventually Panda Bear gave in, and turned away to blink.

I WON!

Some of you may think it was an unfair fight, what with Panda Bear having only one eye and all.  But I had to keep TWO eyes open while he only had to keep ONE eye open.

you see, here in northeast O-Hi-o, it gets very cold and snowy in the winter.  it’s the kind of weather that makes me grateful to be formerly feral.  i like being an indoor kitty.

but still, i enjoy a nice warm spot, and so does Padre.  we like to cuddle together near the heat vent in the Mohawk and Clyde Shrine (AKA bedroom / mommy’s office).  see this picture that daddy took of us while we were sleeping:

is it bad to like to cuddle with your “brother”?  Padre isn’t really my brother.  i mean, he’s not my biological brother.  he’s my adopted brother.

on the other hand, Panda Bear is my real brother, my biological brother.  i think it’s gross to get cuddly with him, on account of he has cooties.  some of you may like to cuddle with your biological siblings, and that’s ok as long as they don’t have cooties.

rooty, binky, and betty, you all were correct. i wanted advice on ways to keep my pesky brother panda bear away from me when i want to enjoy a good catnip bananer, or play with a mousie that i caught, without him butting in.  my girlfriend tammy faye recommended swinging a dead chicken over my head three times.  quasi said that he would help by bringing the dead chicken, but that i would need to bring the rope to swing it with.  victor tabbycat, max, and tybalt agreed that this plan should work. kilroy the love beastie added that putting the bitey on panda bear might help, in case panda bear decides to eat the chicken.

queen snickers expressed an interest in doing her own typing as well. she posed an important question about ways to keep the keyboard keys from sticking:

Very interesting! I trying my own too, but the keys seem to lock up on me. How do you prevent this??

i recommend checking to see if your mommy has installed the evil software “pawsense”.  basically, when installed on a computer, it will sense the different style of typing distinctive to us kitties, and then freeze up. according to the pawsense web site:

PawSense is a software utility that helps protect your computer from cats. It quickly detects and blocks cat typing, and also helps train your cat to stay off the computer keyboard.

if you are using a pc, i recommend that you uninstall the pawsense software. go to the start menu, select “settings”, then “control panel”, then “add or remove programs”. a dialog box will appear. scroll through the list to select pawsense, and then click on the “change/remove” button. all gone!

pawsense is not available for macintosh computers, so if you are using a mac, like i do for most of my blogging, then something else must be the problem.

if pawsense is not the problem, then try shifting your weight from one paw to another more frequently. try holding keys down for not quite as long. let me know how it works for you!
