Cookie has become especially attached to Daddy, and Caramel has bonded to Mommy.  And Mommy and Daddy love both little girls!  Caramel likes to climb all over Mommy and purr and purr and drool.  Cookie likes to sit on Daddy’s lap while he is at the computer.  Sometimes, she takes a bath.  She often takes a nap in his lap.

So Mommy and Daddy decided that they should adopt Cookie and Caramel themselves.

And the rest of us Furry Bambinos love Cookie and Caramel, too.   I am still a little nervous around them (they move so fast)!  Panda Bear now thinks he has a harem!  Even Meerkat isn’t as mean to them anymore.  So now Cookie and Caramel are officially part of our furry fambly!

We are grateful for the award from Poppy Q, but feel unworthy because we have not been good kitteh blogging friends of late. Perhaps we should explainify why we haven’t been visiting as often as we would like.

About a year ago, Mommy began taking on some new responsibilities where she works, including training a new bean. At about the same time, Mommy’s sister (Aunt Patty) was getting married. Shortly after Aunt Patty and Uncle Chris got married, they moved to Missouri. You may remember that we blogged about their wedding, reception, and move. Mommy and Daddy helped Aunt Patty and Uncle Chris, and our cousins Rainbow, Muse, Cinnamon, Toast, and Bruiser move to Missouri.

When Mommy got back to work, she had to hire another two new beans, for a total of three newbeans in five months. So Mommy was busy all day training and then spent most evenings and weekends doing her own work. Which did not leave enough time for us, Daddy, or blogging! Now, the three new beans are just about through with training, so now Mommy can do more of her own work in the daytime, and spend more time with us on the weekends!

So we have been trying to get caught up reading blogs and finding out what all we missed in the Cat Blogosphere. We really appreciate those of you who have continued to follow our blog, and to leave us comments, without our doing much to reciprocate. You make us laugh and smile and cry and be grateful to be part of this wondrous network known as the Cat Blogosphere.

you see, here in northeast O-Hi-o, it gets very cold and snowy in the winter.  it’s the kind of weather that makes me grateful to be formerly feral.  i like being an indoor kitty.

but still, i enjoy a nice warm spot, and so does Padre.  we like to cuddle together near the heat vent in the Mohawk and Clyde Shrine (AKA bedroom / mommy’s office).  see this picture that daddy took of us while we were sleeping:

is it bad to like to cuddle with your “brother”?  Padre isn’t really my brother.  i mean, he’s not my biological brother.  he’s my adopted brother.

on the other hand, Panda Bear is my real brother, my biological brother.  i think it’s gross to get cuddly with him, on account of he has cooties.  some of you may like to cuddle with your biological siblings, and that’s ok as long as they don’t have cooties.

Dear Mom and Dad,

We confess! We had a few friends over Friday night, August 1st. The usual suspects came over, along with some new kids on the block — Sheldon, Rae, Gordon, Tammy Faye, and who knows who else.

Everything was mellow at first. Some of the new kids started a poker game at the dining room table. Actually, it was strip poker. A few collars and soft paws were shed. When they brought out the cigars, we said no way! This is a nuclear and smoke free zone!

Another group wanted snacks so we let them have some of our leftovers. They got a little raucous and soon a food fight was happenin’! We think Gordon started it because he has kind of a bad reputation, but we don’t really want to point the paw until we know for sure. Someone pukied in a few places, but we are not sayin’ who cuz we don’t want to rat on our friends. We cleaned up best we could, but some of it is still around. On Saturday morning, August 2nd, when Aunt Deb stopped in to feed us, she wanted to use the big noisy thing that sucks up stuff, but she thought that Daddy might not like that.

Just before midnight, lots of water and light and noise came form the sky outside. We were ascairt, so we all piled up on top of each other under the sofa. After the storm ended, everyone put on their little yellow rain slickers and tiny boots and left us Furry Bambinos to ourselves. We slept until Aunt Deb came over on Saturday morning to feed us.

Mom and Dad, please don’t be mad at us! We promise we will be good!

In the meantime, we have a new source of entertainment here: The DeLuxe Bird Feeder Station.  Mom and Dad bought it at the local Wild Birds Unlimited store. The real name of the bird feeder is the WBU Advanced Pole System. It’s really cool, and keeps us entertained for hours.  The right side has a regular feeder for tasty regular birds. On top is a nifty house that the squirrels have pretty much claimed as theirs. Check it out:

The left side has a special feeder for tasty yellow birds like this one. Mom says the bird is a Gold Finch.

And now that it is warm here in Northeast O-Hi-o, windows have been left open for our sniffing pleasure!  Here is a photo of all of us Bambinos sniffing a squirrel:

In other news, I have a confession to make.  I LOVE Mommy’s shoes and slippers!!  It’s a little embarrassing, but I just can’t help it, I LOVE to cuddle with her shoes and slippers.

like our friend millie, i was shy at first around mom and dad. while my littermate panda bear and adopted brother padre were all outgoing and friendly with the humans, i held back at first.

then last month mommy was sick for a whole week! so she stayed home from work, and i got a chance to get to know her better. and actually, she’s ok as humans go. when she napped in bed for a whole day, i kept her company and napped with her.

it was during that week that i discovered that mommy has a very comfortable lap! and, mommy is very good at giving pets and scritches and love shnugglies. (a love shnuggly is an extended pet and scritch-fest.)

so then i started approaching mommy and daddy more readily. to their credit, they waited for me to be ready for when i asked for attention. i love my mommy and daddy very much. now, i like to follow mommy and daddy around the house: upstairs, downstairs, to the basement while mommy does laundry or daddy scoops our poop boxes.

i am very lucky to have such a great furrever home and such great adoptive parents. purrrrrrrrrrrr.
