Excuses for not working on our bloggy – The Furry Bambinos – Cleveland http://thefurrybambinos.com Mon, 21 Jan 2019 14:20:47 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.8.1 Panda Bear Caban: May 16, 2007 – January 21, 2018 http://thefurrybambinos.com/tuxedo/panda-bear-caban-may-16-2007-january-21-2018 http://thefurrybambinos.com/tuxedo/panda-bear-caban-may-16-2007-january-21-2018#respond Mon, 21 Jan 2019 14:15:47 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/?p=3448 Our lovable tuxedo cat, Panda Bear, one of the original “Furry Bambinos”, passed away a year ago today on January 21, 2018.  It hit us so hard that it has taken a year to write this entry.

In Panda Bear’s last few months he had been valiantly fighting both heart disease and kidney disease.  On the evening of January 20, 2018, heart disease began to win.  On the morning of January 21 we found him too weak to move, and so we made that difficult decision every pet owner wants to avoid.

Now, even a year later, sadness still lingers with us, as we lost one of our best cats ever.

Panda Bear was born in May of 2007, under a porch in a Cleveland, Ohio, neighborhood with seven siblings.  Shortly thereafter, they were taken in by a local rescue group.  Unfortunately, the calici virus passed through the litter and Panda Bear had to have his right eye removed.  One of his siblings had both eyes removed, and one of his sisters had some retinal scarring.

Panda Bear came into our lives in October of 2007.  We had lost our cat Clyde to lung cancer in February 2007, and were finally ready to look for a new cat.  We saw Panda Bear and his sister with the retinal scarring at Petsmart.  Panda Bear jumped into Sue’s arms, and we knew he was going to be ours.  We adopted him, his sister and another older cat who reminded us of Clyde.  We named the sister “Meerkat”, and the older cat “Padre”.  We affectionately labeled them “The Furry Bambinos”, and that’s when we started this blog.

In the beginning, the three Bambinos hung out together frequently, and most of their early life is well documented here on the blog.

When we captured this photo, it became the header for the blog for several years.

Over the years, we also took to shortening Panda Bear to “P.B.”, so in shorthand, “P.B.” was an “O.G.” (original gangsta) Bambino.  Here he is working on a new blog post with Sue.

Panda Bear was impish and could get himself into trouble, but he would lovingly climb into your lap to apologize.  He would follow us from room to room, and camp out and keep us company.  He made friends with every human that walked in our house, and almost every foster kitten we brought through the door, too.  In short, Panda Bear was the kind of cat everyone would love to have, and we were the luckiest guardians on Earth.

Panda Bear would willingly pose with toys.  In this early photo of him, notice the blue nail caps. We used to use those before simply just getting better at trimming his nails.

Panda Bear loved to “help” get work done, but he would easily get distracted and start playing.

And he was the reason we stopped putting up a Christmas tree every year.

We tried to do a Halloween card one year in which we dressed all the cats up in costumes.  This was the year Panda Bear was a clown.

Even as a one-eyed cat, he could catch flies, mice, and feather toys without any trouble.

He loved to jump and play.  In fact, we had just finished a rousing game of “chase the feather on a string”, and he was breathing heavily when we captured this photo of him.

Panda Bear was rambunctious and impish, but he was also the most calm and chill cat we’ve ever had in our lives.  He was able to get along with just about every cat and human being that came through our house.

If you know us personally and had ever visited our home, you met and came to know Panda Bear.  He was one of our resident “greeter cats” when anyone came to visit.

He was always calm for his vet visits with his vets Dr. Amy and Dr. Jo at Village Veterinary Clinic, and would confidently walk around the room and allow them to poke and prod him.

When the “Coventry Cats” cat store in Cleveland Heights celebrated its 20th anniversary in May of 2008, Panda Bear went to the party.   He seemed to enjoy the car ride immensely.

At the store, he had fun browsing through all the toys …

And the store owner, Sheila Blecman, gave him lots of love!

Panda Bear purchased a new Catnip Banana at the store.

In 2011, we attended a blogging conference in Virginia, and Sue attended a workshop where people could create a “flat” version of their pets.  Basically, it involved taking a good photo of your pet and pasting it onto some thick foam board.  The idea being you could then take your flat pet with you everywhere that real animals aren’t allowed!  So, Sue made “Flat Panda Bear”.

Dr. Amy at Village Vet even played along and once gave Flat Panda Bear an exam.

He passed with flying colors!

Flat Panda travelled with us frequently, and ended up going as far west as Columbia, Missouri.

Over time, we became involved with the rescue group that saved the Bambinos.  The first two fosters we took in were named Cookie and Caramel.  Panda Bear loved them, and so did we, so we adopted them!

Here’s Panda Bear teaching a very young Cookie how to drink from a human’s glass:

And he would frequently wash her head.

Here he poses with a very young Cookie showing her how to sun herself in the patio door.

With the addition of Cookie and Caramel, The Furry Bambinos were now at total of five!

And everyone got along great!

Panda Bear was the explorer (escape artist).  Even in winter.

This was his favorite Gizzy Quilt

We have been involved in animal rescue since 2008, and just about every foster kitten that came through our household had a chance to meet him, too.  Invariably, they would warm up to Panda Bear almost immediately.  We labeled our foster room the “Furry Bambino Foster Academy”, and Panda Bear was the “Guidance Counselor”.
.

He was the one to meet them and help them socialize as they went through the foster program.  All told, Panda Bear was a Rockstar Guidance Counselor to over 150 kittens during his life.  That’s how easy going and lovable he was.

He was a lap kitty, too, and he regularly would sleep next to us or near us on the bed and on sofas.  When David worked at his computer or sat watching TV, Panda Bear would regularly curl up in David’s lap for scritches and snuggles.  If Sue was reclining on the sofa, Panda Bear would knead her chest for almost exactly 15 minutes every night like clockwork.  None of the other cats have loved us so equally and affectionately.

P.B. was talkative, too.  All we had to do was exclaim “Panda Bear!“, and he would bleat out a short happy response to acknowledge his presence.  Then he would flick his tail a couple of times in short, staccato movements like an orchestra conductor waving a baton.  Even as he slowly lost weight and his ailments took their toll, his bleat was music to our ears.

Within our own household Panda Bear will be most missed by our other cats Sunny and Sky.  They latched onto Panda Bear as shy fosters, and never let go.  They followed him almost everywhere and would regularly cuddle up with him, walk beside him, and brush up against him.

Sunny was especially close to Panda Bear, often sleeping with him in the front window.

Panda Bear even made friends with the very shy, skittish, and semi-feral Samoa, who we lost back in 2015.

We can’t say it enough: we’ve lost one of our best cats ever, and we are grieving hard.

Panda Bear is survived by his sister Meerkat, his best friends Sunny, Sky, and Padre, and his step-sisters Cookie, Caramel, and Farrah Fluff.

Panda Bear!” … we were honored to be your guardians.  We loved you dearly, and miss you terribly.  Rest well, dear friend. We’re so happy you’re no longer in pain and now able to run freely.  We look forward to calling your name at the Rainbow Bridge someday and hearing that lovely bleat in response!

Padre’s Earth Day Birthday 2012 http://thefurrybambinos.com/padres-posts/padres-earth-day-birthday-2012 http://thefurrybambinos.com/padres-posts/padres-earth-day-birthday-2012#comments Sun, 22 Apr 2012 17:11:34 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/?p=3180 Greetings Furriends! Today is Earth Day, and today is also my Birth Day! Actually, we don’t really know what day, or even what year I was born. So Mom picked April 22, 2003 as my approximate date of birth.

So that means I am 9 years old today!

To celebrate, Mom ordered us some primo Valerian Root. Thanks to the Katnip Lounge kittehs for the recommendation! Panda Bear and Cookie were the first Bambinos on the scene when Mom opened the box.

Mom thought we would like the Valerian Root because she heard that Valerian Root smells like “stinky feet”. And, ahem, a few of us Bambinos are connoisseurs of The Stinky Foot Smell.

Caramel (aka Ms. Floooooofs) also really enjoys a good whiff of Mommy’s Old Stinky Slippers. Floofs’ toehawks are visible in this photo.

Meerkat took one whiff of the Valerian Root, and look what happened:

The same thing happened when Sunny took one whiff:

And Sky got Sky High after rolling in the Valerian Root that Mom sprinkled on the carpet.

When I sniffed the Valerian Root, I was not impressed. Mom, you woke me up for this?

You woke me up for this?

Then Sunny and Panda Bear really became feisty after a few more whiffs of the Root.

They settled their differences in true ManCat style.

Mom and Dad made up for the lousy birthday present by giving me some REAL Food for Breakfast today. They opened a can of Albacore Tuna and gave me lots of tuna and tuna juice!

All right, I shared the tuna with the rest of the Bambinos. Sky also really loved the Albacore Tuna!

You are most welcome to teleport over here to try out the Valerian Root for yourself! If you don’t like the Root either, we also have some Primo Nip! Oh, and Mom’s Stinky Slippers, too.

Purrs,

Padre, aka Earth Day Birthday Boy

Pee. Ess. We haven’t been blogging much these past few months for a variety of lame excuses. Late last year, Mom’s compooter started slowing down to the point of the ridiculous. So she uninstalled some software which kept it limping along for a few more months. Finally, it was so bad that she broke down and bought a new compooter. And you know what that means kittehs – it takes humans FOREVER to set up their new compooter and install all the software and files needed for blogging. We hope that Mom is now back in proper blogging form. We have really missed you and can’t wait to start getting caught up reading all your bloggies!

Happy Birthday Mommy … and Cookie is Nuts! http://thefurrybambinos.com/panda-bears-posts/happy-birthday-mommy-and-cookie-is-nuts http://thefurrybambinos.com/panda-bears-posts/happy-birthday-mommy-and-cookie-is-nuts#comments Sat, 03 Dec 2011 15:27:59 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/?p=2993 Today is our Mommy’s Birthday! We are happy that it is on a Saturday, so we get extra snuggle time with her today. She was surprised to see her birthday announced on the Cat Blogosphere! She says thank you for all the kind birthday wishes. She just got off the phone with Gramma. Mom always calls Gramma at the time Mom was born to wish her mother a Happy Mother’s Day.

We haven’t been able to blog much lately. That’s because the computer has been overheating and shutting down randomly. So Daddy performed surgery on it. This is what he pulled out.

A furball! The computer hacked up a furball! An impressive one, if I do say so myself.

In other news, I have always thought that Cookie is a bit daft when it comes to The Rug Sucking Monster. She is not afraid of it! When it comes out, most of us go running the other direction. Clyde, One Who Came Before, would hiss at it even before it got turned on. Then he would run to the farthest corner of the house to get away from it. But not Cookie.

Watch the movie and see what I mean.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAh297anJGg

Crazy, I tell you! That Cookie is bat sh*t crazy! What do you do when The Rug Sucking Monster comes out?

BlogPaws 2011 Friends http://thefurrybambinos.com/friends/blogpaws-2011-friends http://thefurrybambinos.com/friends/blogpaws-2011-friends#comments Mon, 05 Sep 2011 20:00:33 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/?p=2753 Greetings Furriends!  Long time no blog! We have been having internet problems lately, but Mommy and Daddy hope that the new cable modem resolves that problem. We have been going through blogging withdrawal, especially given that the BlogPaws Conference was last week!

Mommy and Daddy had a great time at BlogPaws. They saw some furriends Mommy met last year like Carol 0f Coffee, Cats n’ Yarn and Teri of Curlz and Swirlz.  Flat Panda Bear got created at the Flat Tyler session, and is featured in many photos.

Karen (AKA The Food Lady) was there too! LOVE the glasses!

Pictured below are Karen of MouseBreath (AKA The Food Lady), Mom, Nancy (Mr. R.W. Emerson’s Mommie), Flat Skeezix, Flat Mao, Flat Mr. R.W. Emerson, and Flat Panda Bear.

We love Brighton’s outfit! Teri’s shirt is really cool too!

Coco is a very pretty kitty!

Mommy and Daddy sat with the BlogPaws photographer, Brad Smith (left) for Saturday dinner. Daddy is wearing The Furry Bambinos shirt.

We Furry Bambinos stayed home, but Louisa the Foster Kitten went along.  Here she is with Carol of Coffee, Cats n’ Yarn.

And the Very Handsome Moshe Moshi, one of Carol’s Naked Kidz from Coffee Cats n’ Yarn:

Louisa got to sample many laps during the conference! Louisa napped on Desiree’s lap in two different sessions!

Napping with Desiree again:

Louisa also got to be held by lots of friendly cat people. This is Rebecca, one of the BlogPaws staffers:

Claire from the Sheraton registration desk really enjoyed getting to meet Louisa.

Check out this little cutie! This is Snotface! He attended BlogPaws with his person, Stephanie.

Mom and Stephanie introduced Louisa the Foster Kitten and Snotface. Unfortunately, Louisa was not sure what to make of a ferret, and was not on her best behavior. We sincerely hope that Stephanie and Snotface were not offended.

Next, Louisa seems to be in a better mood, with Susan Getgood of Blog Her.

And here Louisa is pictured with one of the PetSmart representatives.

Mom and Dad met Caren Gittleman, of Cat Chat with Caren & Cody.  Louisa enjoyed meeting Caren at the Flat Tyler workshop, where Flat Panda Bear was created, with the help of Bev Van Zant of My Flat Pet: The Adventures of Flat Tyler.

They also met Deborah Barnes, of Zee & Zoey’s Chronicle Connection blog, and author of the soon-to-be-published book “The Chronicles of Zee & Zoey”! Louisa enjoyed sitting in Deb’s lap, too.

On Sunday morning, Mom, Dad, and Flat Panda Bear chatted with Guido the Italian Cat’s Mom Judi, Dusty Rainbolt (VP Media & Communications for Adopt A Shelter and author of Cat Wrangling Made Easy, Kittens for Dummies, and others), and Janea Kelley, Webmaster of Paws and Effect.

More about BlogPaws next time!  And catching up reading and commenting, too!

The Apostles Killed a Mouse! And Other News http://thefurrybambinos.com/num-nums-for-tum-tums/the-apostles-killed-a-mouse-and-other-news http://thefurrybambinos.com/num-nums-for-tum-tums/the-apostles-killed-a-mouse-and-other-news#comments Mon, 14 Dec 2009 11:02:15 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/?p=914 Greetings, furries!  It’s me, Caramel, Lady Floofilicious here!  I have an update of what has been going on here at Casa Furry Bambino.  We are going to try to get caught up reading your blogs and commenting over the next few weeks.  We really miss all of you!

It has been awhile since we last posted, so here is a summary.  But first, a recent photo of me.  Look at the toe-hawks on my back paws!  Cookie and I are 9 months old now, so my floof is really growing in!

Awhile ago, Mommy was sick as a pig.  A lot of people where she works were sick at that time.  Mommy said that the worst part of pig flu was that it made her really really tired.  On the plus side, I was able to score lots of extra naps with Mommy!

Regular readers of our blog know that Mommy and Daddy volunteer with an animal rescue group called PAWS.  On November 15, The Apostles went to a PAWS adoption event held at PetSmart.  They did not get adopted that day though.

There were lots of cute kitties, including these sweeties, Faith (grey), Hope, Love, and Charity.  Hope, Love, and Charity are all sisters, and Faith is a female from another litter.  Faith and Charity got adopted that day.

As you may know, PetSmart does not mind if you want to go to pick out your food and treats yourself.  Usually, we trust Mommy and Daddy to do that for us.  That day, a pet skunk decided to come to PetSmart to check out the food selections.

In other news, we got to have Real Live Fresh Dead TURKEY on Thanksgiving!

Padre is very fond of Real Live Fresh Dead Turkey.

Cookie and I are also very fond of Real Live Fresh Dead Turkey.  I like it even more than Cookie does.

Meerkat doesn’t really like it.  You can tell by the expression on her face.

Neither does Panda Bear.

Mom thinks that maybe the eye infections that Meerkat and Panda Bear had as kittens affected their sense of smell or taste, since the rest of us nom nom nommed.  As for The Apostles, Matthew, Mark, and Luke liked the RLFDT, but Joann did not.  The Apostles were at boarding school (PetSmart), but came home for Thanksgiving break.

The day after Thanksgiving was a very busy day.  The Apostles went back to boarding school.  Here they are in their dorm room.

Then Padre, Cookie, and I were taken to the V-E-T!  Cookie WILLINGLY climbed into the PTU that was intended for Padre.  And then she refused to come out.  So Mom shoved Padre into the PTU intended for Cookie and me.

That left no PTU for me, as Mom did not want to put me into Padre’s PTU, and the PTU Cookie was in was too small for Cookie and me.  I was thinking that I might have played my cards extremely well, but no such luck.  Mom grabbed me and held me in her lap on the ride to the V-E-T.

When we got there, Mom walked up to the desk to check in, and the girl behind the desk was very complimentary to me!  She said that I was Beautiful!  She asked Mom if she could hold me, and Mom let her.  The girl was very nice to me.  She said that she needed to show me to the Office Manager, or she would get into trouble for not showing her a really cute cat.  So the girl took me back to a very nice lady who held me and cuddled me.  She said that my furs are very soft!  And that the way I let her hold me made her think that I might be part rag doll kitty.  At last, proper treatment for a floofilicious cat like myself!  I was beginning to think the whole V-E-T business was not so bad.

However, Padre was absolutely miserable.  He tried to hide in the back of the PTU.

Cookie explored the exam room, giving it a thorough sniffing, and reported back to Padre and me.

Padre, Cookie, and I each got weighed.  Padre currently weighs 13.0 pounds, Cookie weighs 10.2 pounds, and I weigh 9.2 pounds.

But then!  Oh, the horrors!  Mom asked them to trim my pretty furs!  (Something about litter box issues on a long-haired kitty.)  So they took me to the back and gave me a buzz cut on my derriere.  Oh, the shame.  I am so embarrassed, I can’t believe I am even admitting this to all of you.

Later that same day (Friday, November 27), Luke and Matthew got adopted into two separate families!  And someone else applied to adopt Joann and (possibly) Mark.  I guess because it was “Black Friday” it was a good day to adopt black kittens!

As it eventually turned out, Mark was not adopted by the family that adopted Joann.  Joann went to her furrever home on Sunday November 29.  Luke’s new family calls him “Shadow”.  Matthew’s new family calls him “Neo”.  And Joann’s new name is “Inky”.  But Mark is still Mark.  Or Marko.  Or Marko Polo.  And he still lives with us.  But now he is allowed to mingle with the rest of us instead of having to stay in the foster room.

So Dad cleaned out the foster room.  He removed the food dishes, litter boxes, and toys.  Dad took out the rug-sucking monster, and ran it over the whole room.  While Dad was cleaning, he came across this:

A dead mouse.  Apparently, The Apostles are good mousers!

Award Long Overdue http://thefurrybambinos.com/cat-blogosphere/award-long-overdue http://thefurrybambinos.com/cat-blogosphere/award-long-overdue#comments Sun, 12 Jul 2009 15:01:13 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/?p=806 Greetings! Our dear friend Poppy Q from New Zealand gave us this beautiful award some time ago. We are just now posting about it. We are very fond of Poppy Q, and adore reading her blog and learning about life in New Zealand, oh so far away.

This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY – nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

We are grateful for the award from Poppy Q, but feel unworthy because we have not been good kitteh blogging friends of late. Perhaps we should explainify why we haven’t been visiting as often as we would like.

About a year ago, Mommy began taking on some new responsibilities where she works, including training a new bean. At about the same time, Mommy’s sister (Aunt Patty) was getting married. Shortly after Aunt Patty and Uncle Chris got married, they moved to Missouri. You may remember that we blogged about their wedding, reception, and move. Mommy and Daddy helped Aunt Patty and Uncle Chris, and our cousins Rainbow, Muse, Cinnamon, Toast, and Bruiser move to Missouri.

When Mommy got back to work, she had to hire another two new beans, for a total of three newbeans in five months. So Mommy was busy all day training and then spent most evenings and weekends doing her own work. Which did not leave enough time for us, Daddy, or blogging! Now, the three new beans are just about through with training, so now Mommy can do more of her own work in the daytime, and spend more time with us on the weekends!

So we have been trying to get caught up reading blogs and finding out what all we missed in the Cat Blogosphere. We really appreciate those of you who have continued to follow our blog, and to leave us comments, without our doing much to reciprocate. You make us laugh and smile and cry and be grateful to be part of this wondrous network known as the Cat Blogosphere.

Belated Bambino Party http://thefurrybambinos.com/cat-blogosphere/belated-bambino-party http://thefurrybambinos.com/cat-blogosphere/belated-bambino-party#comments Wed, 27 May 2009 19:08:47 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/?p=742 Hi Everyfurry!!! Thanks to the Cat Blogosphere and to you kitties who REMEMBERED to blog for our purrthday. Meerkat and I appreciate your comments and birthday wishes.

Mom and Dad have been rotten parents lately. They claim that they have been too busy to help us blog.  And they even missed blogging on our Purrthday on May 16!!!  Well, you know what that means.

House.

Trashing.

Par-tay!

You are all invited over to Casa Furry Bambino for a house trashing party. (Although, we have to admit, the house looks pretty messy already.)

Mom is on “vaCATion” from her day hunting gig. Note, the center of the word vacation is CAT, which means that her time off should center around US. Well, that does not seem to be happening.

Dad pretty much works at home lately, but we think that they will be busy outside. Yesterday, a superbig room that moves showed up and horked a big pile of dirt in the driveway:

Pile O Dirt

Ya’d think Mom and Dad would be upset, but noooo! They actually paid for the horking of the dirt. Go figure. Anyway, they apparently will be busy moving the dirt off the driveway. So they probably won’t notice a few dozen extra cats hanging out inside!

They did remember to give us a present that all three of us have to share:

The Tower is a Big Hit

C’mon over to try it out:

Meerkat is Queen of The Tower Padre Sniffs Tentatively

See you at the party!

Shot in the Leg! http://thefurrybambinos.com/padres-posts/shot-in-the-leg http://thefurrybambinos.com/padres-posts/shot-in-the-leg#comments Sat, 03 Jan 2009 21:38:08 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/?p=698 “Shot in the leg,
And they’re to blame,
Mommy and Daddy give love a bad name!”

Well, I have to report that Mommy and Daddy are EVIL.  To start off the new year, they locked us in our PTU’s yesterday morning, and put us in The Room That Moves.  I was lucky to get one all to myself, while Meerkat and Panda Bear got squeezed into one.

We had no idea where we were going, until we stopped and Mommy and Daddy started carrying us into a place that smelled eerily familiar.

They took us to the V-E-T !!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, the horrors!

First the lady in the red clothes took us out one at a time.  She put us on a flat surface and called out a number.  For me, she said “thirteen point six pounds”.  Aaaack!  She was weighing us!

For the record, Panda bear was 12.6, and Meerkat was 10.4.  (padre! how dares you.  a lady doesn’t ever tell her age or her weight.  i am offended!  Love, Meerkat.)

After the weighing came the waiting. That was exploration time!  Mommy held me close and started babbling about how good of a kitty I was, but I was itching to escape.

Then, she tried to calm down Meerkat.  As you can see, Meerkat was simply terrified.

Panda Bear, however, was “Mr. Adventure”.  First he stood on the table and sniffed around.

Then he tried to sniff the other corner of the room.  Luckily he didn’t try to jump up!

Then, he started doing his acrobatics.  What a showoff:

This time we saw a lady named “Dr. Jillian”.  She took each of us one at a time and started “examining” us.  I hid in my carrier, but I know she took Panda Bear first.  It was hard to see what was happening, but I did hear a loud pop! at one point.

Then she took Meerkat.  No pop for her.

Then it was my turn.   Mommy had to yank me hard out of my PTU.  I didn’t want to go!

Then I was in their grasp.  Dr. Jillian squeezed my belly.  She put a piece of cold metal on me and held it there for a few seconds.  The lady with the red clothes held me really, really tightly … and then … Dr. Jillian squeezed some of my furs … and SHE SHOT ME IN THE LEG!  OOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Then she shot me AGAIN!

Then she flipped me over and shot me ONE MORE TIME … this last time with a loud poppy sounding shooter in my back right leg.  Same sound as I heard with Panda Bear.  Hoomph!   Something about being to protect against “loo-kee-mee-uh”.

Then the lady with the red clothes started picking at my teeths!  Dr. Jillian said I have “tartar buildup” and a little bit of “gingeevitus” … whatever that is.  My teeths feel fine.  Hoomph!

Finally, I was able to get back in my PTU.  Panda Bear and Meerkat were directly across from me in their PTU.  They were both looking sleepy at this point, and I was feeling a little tired, too.

Next thing I know we were being carried back out to The Room That Moves.  Not long afterward Mommy and Daddy carried us back into the house and opened the doors to the PTU’s.

Yay!  Freedom!

Pretty soon I was feeling sleepy.  So was Panda Bear.  He really zonked out and barely moved for many hours, which made Mommy and Daddy a little worried.  He must have got shot worse than I did.

Eventually, he turned around, and then moved to another part of the house.

That was our start to this new year.  I overheard Mommy saying that we have to go back to be shot again in a few weeks.  I’ve already started planning my escape route.

The Cross-Country M Word: Part 1 http://thefurrybambinos.com/stinky-goodness/the-cross-country-m-word http://thefurrybambinos.com/stinky-goodness/the-cross-country-m-word#comments Mon, 11 Aug 2008 10:02:50 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/?p=539 Aunt Patty and Uncle Chris did the M word.  From Pittsburgh Pennsylvanicat to Columbia Meowssouri.  Two weeks ago.

Our poor traumatized feline cousins!  Poor Rainbow, Muse, Cinnamon, and Toast!  Even Bruiser, the woofie, had to endure being cooped up in rooms that moved for days and days!  And to think that Mom and Dad (gasp!) helped.  How could they stoop so low?!

Over the next few days, we Furry Bambinos will report on the events of the cross-country M word, as we experienced them.  If you want to know what stupid stuff Mom and Dad were up to, go read their stupid blog.

We should have suspected that something was up when the big rectangular boxes with zippers started appearing all over the house.  Mom and Dad put lots of clothes into them.  They even brought home two new PTU’s (Prisoner Transport Units) and two new comfy cat beds.  Meerkat slept in the pink comfy cat bed over the weekend, thinking it was for her.

Then on the morning of Monday the 28th of July, Mom and Dad mysteriously left.  When they returned, they had a ginormous room that moves with them!  This is what it looked like:

The Ginormous Room That Moves

It made all of us a bit nervous, what with the ginormous room that moves and all.  Mom and Dad put all of their rectangular boxes with zippers into it.  Then they left us all alone.  Hoomph!  And I wanted Mom to help us blog!  Well, at least they didn’t drag us along!  We had a relaxing day, napping, watching the birdies and squirrels, and munching on crunchies.  We knew that Aunt Deb would visit us, give us our stinky goodness and crunchies, and play with us, so we weren’t worried.  And with Mom and Dad away, maybe we could try to get a few cats together for a par-tay!

Bird Watching http://thefurrybambinos.com/padres-posts/bird-watching http://thefurrybambinos.com/padres-posts/bird-watching#comments Mon, 14 Jul 2008 01:37:45 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/?p=495 Sorry that we have not posted in awhile.  Mommy says something about her job keeping her very busy.  Sigh.  She really needs to get her priorities straight!

In the meantime, we have a new source of entertainment here: The DeLuxe Bird Feeder Station.  Mom and Dad bought it at the local Wild Birds Unlimited store. The real name of the bird feeder is the WBU Advanced Pole System. It’s really cool, and keeps us entertained for hours.  The right side has a regular feeder for tasty regular birds. On top is a nifty house that the squirrels have pretty much claimed as theirs. Check it out:

The left side has a special feeder for tasty yellow birds like this one. Mom says the bird is a Gold Finch.

And now that it is warm here in Northeast O-Hi-o, windows have been left open for our sniffing pleasure!  Here is a photo of all of us Bambinos sniffing a squirrel:

In other news, I have a confession to make.  I LOVE Mommy’s shoes and slippers!!  It’s a little embarrassing, but I just can’t help it, I LOVE to cuddle with her shoes and slippers.

Well, that’s all the Bambino News for now!
