Flight Risk – The Furry Bambinos – Cleveland http://thefurrybambinos.com Sat, 16 Aug 2008 17:01:00 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.7.2 the cross-country m word: part 5 http://thefurrybambinos.com/stinky-goodness/the-cross-country-m-word-part-5 http://thefurrybambinos.com/stinky-goodness/the-cross-country-m-word-part-5#comments Sat, 16 Aug 2008 17:00:59 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/?p=544 this is the fifth post in a series about what we did while mom and dad abandoned us to help aunt patty and uncle chris with the m word. our poor cousins rainbow, muse, cinnamon, toast, and bruiser (the woofie) had to endure being cooped up in rooms that moved for days and days. if you want to know what mom and dad were doing, go read their stupid blog.

we furry bambinos weren’t that eager to chow down on friday, august 1st. we were more interested in playing with aunt deb. she said that she felt so honored, like sally field when she declared “you like me! you really like me!” upon accepting her oscar. (later aunt deb realized that we bambinos are just not that into the particular type of stinky goodness that she gave us that day. panda bear “covered up” the food as if he was in the litter box as a sign of his disapproval.)

Panda Bear Covers the Leftover Food for Later

then aunt deb fed us and filled our water bowls and fountain. mom must have told aunt deb where the squirrel food is, and that panda bear is a huge flight risk when mom feeds the squirrels. because next she grabbed the outdoor critters’ food, then announced, “NO escapees, guys!” we bambinos backed off, but watched attentively as she flung copious amounts of peanuts and walnuts out the door. aunt deb said that she had to make up for not feeding them before today. she said that those squirrels looked pitiful waiting around for their usual goodies.

then aunt deb tossed a few toys around to see if she could get some indoor activity going. padre and i went for the catnip carrot. aunt deb settled into the rocker for playtime. i sat to the right of her and rolled around on my back to show off my tummy, as i have done everyday. she gave me some skritches and asked if anyone else wanted some.

panda bear parked himself in his usual spot in the dining room by the pile of toys. he looked rather bored, so aunt deb spoke to him by name, and talked in a soothing voice. he answered by giving aunt deb a “love blink”: a slow blink of his eye.

padre posted himself near the door and stood vigil for the squirrels. i said that i wanted to play with the feather toy, so we did that for a good while.

Meerkat Attacks the Red Feather Toy

i really like chasing the feather toy through the cubes, then jumping on top of the cubes and squishing them!

Meerkat Crushes a Kalahari Cube

we furry bambinos nibbled and drank before aunt deb left. she cautioned us to behave ourselves, because she somehow sensed that we had some plans for that night. after that wild party we had last time mom and dad were away, aunt deb said that she is preparing herself for anything when she comes to see us on saturday morning.

Poor Meerkat & Padre! http://thefurrybambinos.com/cat-pride/poor-meerkat-padre http://thefurrybambinos.com/cat-pride/poor-meerkat-padre#comments Thu, 29 May 2008 10:38:53 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/cat-pride/poor-meerkat-padre I feel sorry for Meerkat and Padre!

As you regular readers know, I only has one eye.  I had an infection as a young kitty and they removed my right eye.  It’s okay, though.  It was just an extra one as far as I can tell.

Go ahead … try and get closer!

I can jump to high places.  I can catch and deadify mousies in the dark.

Panda Bear pins down the mouse!

I can get into “things I’m not supposed to”.

Panda Bear in the Refrigerator!

Panda Bear goes climbing

Panda with head in mug

Panda Bear in the closet

I can play Thundering Herd of Elephants with Meerkat and Padre.

Up the down staircase

I can chase and catch birdies on a string.

Panda Bear gets the red thing

I can be a pirate!  I’m fast and agile and nothing stops me from exploring!

Panda Bear playing in the snow!

On the outside looking in

A stroll in the snow

And I can catch moths with my paws!

Poor Meerkat and Padre need two eyes to do all that!  How untalented of them.  Guess that’s why I’m so special!

Gramma sent me a really great cartoon recently.  It’s from a comix called “Mutts”.  Maybe you have it in your newspaper.  If not, you can go to their website and see the comix.  Daddy says something about “copy rite infrringment” if we post it here.  So, go read the Mutt’s cartoon

Hooray for one-eyed kitties like me!  We’re super great and don’t have any extra parts!

We were tagged by Bear and Shadow, and are hard at work on our “7 Useful Things” Meme. We will post it this weekend!

helping feed the birdies and beaver squirrels http://thefurrybambinos.com/exploring/helping-feed-the-birdies-and-beaver-squirrels http://thefurrybambinos.com/exploring/helping-feed-the-birdies-and-beaver-squirrels#comments Fri, 21 Mar 2008 18:18:34 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/exploring/helping-feed-the-birdies-and-beaver-squirrels every morning, mommy or daddy feeds the outdoor animals like the birdies and the beaver squirrels. we call them “beaver squirrels” because when aunt patty and her boyfriend chris were here to visit, aunt patty said that the squirrels were as big as beavers.

of course, us furry bambinos like to help mommy or daddy when they throw the food outside. we snoopervise and we perform qa checks of the peanuts and sunflower seeds.

we also like to sniff the outside air. it smells different than the inside air. in the winter time, the outside air is very cold. for some reason, mommy and daddy always put this gate thingy in front of the door when they feed the birdies.

Trapped from escaping!

but the outside air smells exciting!

Wait … there

one of these days, i’m gonna explore out there. for some reason, mommy and daddy always grab me and haul me back inside, just when i’m on the verge of escape!

It

but i think i’ll wait until it gets warmer. 🙂

have a happy easter efurryone!

Flight Risk http://thefurrybambinos.com/panda-bears-posts/flight-risk http://thefurrybambinos.com/panda-bears-posts/flight-risk#comments Mon, 14 Jan 2008 04:42:27 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/panda-bears-posts/flight-risk Gee, thanks Mao, and Annie, too.

Mom says because of all the missing kitties in the Blogosphere lately, that Padre, Meerkat, and I have to wear these dorky collars with dangly circle thingys on them. Apparently, Mom wrote our names and their phone number on the dangly circle thingys. She says that it is so that in case we ever escape that we could be returned home safely.

My dorky red collar

Mom even had the nerve to say to Dad that I “am a flight risk”. Wth? I don’t have wings! What is she talking about, dudes? Just because I like to try to sneak out the door to give her a warm sendoff when she leaves for work? Mom won’t let me escort her to the room that moves that is sitting in the driveway, she always shoves me back inside. Doesn’t she understand that I am just trying to be a gentleman?

To top things off, Meerkat got her collar stuck in her mouth, while she was wearing it! It took both Dad and Mom to rescue my poor sister from the Evil Collar Monster. At least Meerkat got a really good bite on Mom’s finger, as well as digging one of her claws into another finger!! Heh.

Later, the collar dangly thing somehow managed to get stuck on one of my teeth!! Again, it took Dad to rescue me from the Evil Collar Monster.

Padre also has to wear a collar. He tried to get his off at first too, then has largely ignored it. What a wuss! We need to have a unified front here, and I don’t take kindly to traitors. Maybe I should put the bitey on him…

In other news, I received word that I am officially a Tuxedo Gang Hideout Member!! Of course I am thrilled!! More about this later. This is what the logo looks like for the Tuxedo Gang:

New Tuxedo Gang Hideout Member

But how humiliating that now that I am finally in a gang, that I have to be seen wearing this dorky collar!

I think that tonight while she is asleep, I will give Mom the bitey… or maybe I should poop on her pillow… decisions… decisions…

P.S. Mom told me that I had to mention that Padre, Meerkat, Mom, Dad, and I are so relieved that Mao is back, safe and sound. Still, we are worried about Annie being away. We are purring and praying for her safe return.
