Something happened to our blog!  Mommy noticed it this morning and was a little worried. 

Daddy is our tech dude, so he took a look at it closer and found that something was all broke.  So Daddy worked his magic … and really @$&#ed it up good! 

Now all our pictures are gone and we are sad.  I’m going to bite Daddy when he gets home because he did something he shouldn’t have —  I know it!  I know it!  I know it! 

He promises to get all our pictures back in place as soon as he can.  He better!  We will all gang up on Daddy tonight and give him the bitey! 

Daddy told me he has to “back up” more often so this doesn’t happen in the future.  Why does Daddy need to back up?  Why doesn’t he just go forward?  Beans are weird. 

Gotta sharpen my teeth for the bitey party tonight! 

Panda Bear out.

on saturday, mommy and daddy went to this event called “paws for a cause”. i wrote about it on saturday morning. it was an event meant to help kitties and woofies find their furrever homes. (there were 5 kittens and 4 woofies adopted.)

well, just look at these photos!

this is mommy holding a cute little tuxie kitten. in the background, another paws volunteer is bottle feeding a baby kitten that was only about 4 weeks old!

i had a feeling that there was going to be some flirting going on. i could tell by the looks on their faces, not to mention the fur on their clothes!

of course, i am happy that other kitties and woofies were adopted to their furrever homes! but did mommy and daddy have to flirt with other kitties and woofies quite so much?!

in other news, kelly cat inquired as to when panda bear’s and my birthday is. i don’t remember exactly the day we were born, but mommy was told that it was in the middle of may. so panda bear and i will be celebrating our very first birthday this friday, may 16! more later about the party!

Daddy was wrassling with a Metal Snake Monster that was coming out of the drain of the human bathing tub!

I always thought that snakes just made hissing sounds, but this snake must have been very angry and was making very LOUD noises.

At first I was worried, but I could see that Daddy had won the battle with the Metal Snake Monster.  He pulled a clump of hair from the snake’s mouth and said “See, here’s the problem, Panda Bear!”  So, I sniffed it.  It smelled icky, but I knew it definitely wasn’t MY hair!

Next, Daddy cleaned the human litter box room with smelly stuff.  Then he took out the Rug Sucking Monster and attacked the carpet.  Meerkat and Padre bolted, but I stayed to watch.

After that, Daddy and Mommy went to the basement and studied the big hot box in the middle of the room. They used big words like “eevaperater” and “hyoomiduhtea” and smaller words like “new filter”.  They played with the water hose to the big hot box, and got water on the floor.  So, I sniffed it.  It smelled kinda icky.  Then they put the hose away and went back upstairs.

Humans sure do some weird stuff!

Sorry that we haven’t been blogging for a few days. We did not have access to a computer because we were AWAY FROM HOME. The Furry Bambinos are back home now at Casa Cabán, safe and sound. We are very very very happy to be home. This is where we were:

On Wednesday afternoon, Mommy scooped us up and shoved us into the evil cat carriers. Immediately, I voiced my protest, but to no avail. Daddy and Mommy put us into the room that moves and we drove away.

At first, I didn’t know what was going on, and I was afraid that Mommy and Daddy decided to give us back to PAWS, the rescue group that they adopted us from.  I was extremely upset, because I really love this furrever home, and I really love Mommy and Daddy. I was afraid that we did something bad, so they were giving us away. 

But we did not go back to PAWS. Instead we went to The Barkley Pet Hotel and Day Spa^TM.

Panda Bear and I complained the whole way there. Meerkat kept quiet, but she was quivering the entire time.

Once at The Barkley, they showed us to our “suite”.  At least the three of us got to stay together in the same unit.

Apparently Mommy and Daddy were going out of town for a few days. Winter weather is unpredictable here in Northeast Ohio. So they did not want to ask a friend (like Miss Deb who visited us before) to try to navigate our driveway in bad weather. Dad kept saying things about “beaching the car in deep snow at the end of the driveway.” Whatever that means.

They let us explore the “Kitty City” at The Barkley. There was a climbing tower thingy, and Meerkat climbed all the way to the top!

There were also some trees in the corner, so Meerkat checked those out, too.

Panda Bear got hissed at by a kitty named Daisy who was staying in another condo unit. He was not miffed in the least, and looked at her as if to say “What’s with you?” Panda Bear also inspected this thing called a “step stool”.

I preferred to hide out in the lowest level of our condo unit, which is where the litter boxes were.

Mommy was very sad and gave us lots of hugs and kisses. Daddy gave us hugs too. Then they left!!! At least the humans who run The Barkley were nice, and checked on us while Mommy and Daddy were away. The Barkley humans fed us and gave us fresh water and emptied the litter pans.

While we were there, we found out The Barkley is mostly for woofies to spend the day or night, and that Kitty City is a special area just for us cats.  We heard through the grapevine of other kitties and snippets of talk from the humans that there is a pool, and a fountain, and massages, and accupuncture, and even  limousine rides for woofies!  Despite this imbalance of care for woofies, I consulted with Panda Bear and Meerkat and we give The Barkley a “4 paw” rating for cats!

Finally Mommy and Daddy came back on Saturday afternoon and rescued us from The Barkley. While it was a nice place to visit, all of us Furry Bambinos are so glad to be home!!

The Barkley did not have a computer for us to use, so we have a lot of catching up to do reading and commenting on blogs…

Mommy took the Rectangular Box With Zippers out the front door.  I tried to go out the door when she did, but she pushed me back inside, said “bye, bye” and then closed the door.  I was very sad about this until Meerkat started chasing me and then I forgot all about it. 

Daddy came home a little later in the day and was happy to see us.  I wasn’t sure he knew Mommy had packed up her Rectangular Box With Zippers, but then he said we have a “swinging bachelor pad”, and that we would be “batching it” with him for the night until Mommy came back. 

Daddy made us a special dish of Stinky Goodness and then I fell asleep on Mommy’s chair in the eating room. 

I don’t know how long I sleeped, but when I woke up, all the lights were off and the door to Mommy and Daddy’s sleeping room was closed.  I heard Daddy snoring and I tried scratching the door to get in, but he didn’t open the door. 

It wasn’t much of a “swinging bachelor pad” if you ask me. 

The next morning Mommy wasn’t around, but Daddy fed us like usual and snuggled us.  Then we went to sleep.  Mommy came in the door later in the day.  Yay!  She came back!  She had the Rectangular Box With Zippers, plus some other boxes and she hugged us and petted us and snuggled us and said how happy she was to see us and that she “missed us so much”.

So naturally we have been following Mommy around to make sure she doesn’t make another such disappearance. She and Daddy have gone to “work” but they come home together, so that is OK. Mommy explained that they have to visit a place called “work” so that they have green papers to trade at the store for our stinky goodness.

But we have been hot on her trail while she is at home…

daddy and mommy are home again today, and they are busy in the kitchen. as max the psychokitty would say, there are all sorts of real live fresh dead things in the refrigerator.

my brother wanted to help verify that the scallops were good, but he got too close to the flashy box.

so he just tried to do a refrigerator inspection instead …

daddy gave us some shrimpies just for us to eat. 

he ground them up and made them easier to eat for us, and here’s what we thought of them:

the photo doesn’t tell the real story.  actually, padre was just sniffing it.  he didn’t actually eat any EITHER. 

maybe mommy and daddy didn’t know how to make it right.  max raves about real live fresh dead shrimp, but it just didn’t do anything for me. 

daddy and mommy had all these ingredients because they were making something called pie-ay-uh.  it sounded spanish, but i did not know how to spell pie-ay-uh, so i asked padre, since he is fluent in spanish. padre told me that you spell it “paella”.

daddy has his mommy’s recipe to make paella. it is a puerto rican/spanish/medituhrainian dish with rice and lots of fishies in it. daddy’s daddy is from puerto rico, and daddy’s mommy makes a really tasty paella (at least daddy and mommy think so). we will post gramma’s recipe for paella at the end of this post.  this was the final result:

we weren’t allowed to have any because it has onions in it!
