In other news, a few weeks ago, our house was invaded.

By Sticky Little People.

Exhibit A.

Exhibit B.

The Big People are good friends of Mom and Dad.  The Sticky Little Girl is Mom and Dad’s God-Daughter.  Isn’t she adorable?  They came to visit a few weeks ago.

Padre made himself completely scarce and hid upstairs for the duration of their visit invasion.

So did Meerkat.

Panda Bear tried to act all cool, but he kept a safe distance.  He studied the train set when the Sticky Little People were in another room.

And my sister Caramel and I got the Sticky Little People all to ourselves!  The Boy was very fun to play with.

The Boy played Feather Toy with Caramel.  She grabbed the Feather Toy in her mouth and walked off, leading The Boy!

The Boy laughed and jumped up and down a lot when Caramel grabbed the Feather Toy.

The Girl was sweet and giggled a lot, but she mostly stayed near her humans.

The Boy even knew how to play with the trackball toy!

He also showed me how to play with the train set!  That was a lot of fun!

The train moves, so I tried to touch it!

The Boy even climbed inside our Kalahari cubes!  He was so much fun to play with!

I hope they come back to visit again soon!

Party Time! (Aunt Patty and Uncle Chris’s Wedding Reception) http://thefurrybambinos.com/panda-bears-posts/party-time-wedding-reception http://thefurrybambinos.com/panda-bears-posts/party-time-wedding-reception#comments Sat, 26 Jul 2008 16:12:18 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/?p=516 Well, by now, if you have been following the past few posts, you know that Aunt Patty and Uncle Chris got married last Friday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvanicat. Their wild party wedding reception was held in a fancy ballroom in a hotel near the church. Mom told me I couldn’t go to the wedding or wild party wedding reception because they don’t allow cats. So she brought home some pictures, and told us lots of stories.

This is a picture of Aunt Patty and Uncle Chris’s wedding cake:

The oversized cupcake as the top layer is because Aunt Patty LOVES cupcakes!

The “M” and the tiger on the next layer from the top are for the University of Missouri. Uncle Chris will start work there soon, and Aunt Patty will go back to school there. The tiger is the university’s mascot.

The Sticky Little People (and they really are Sticky and Little People) represent the children where Aunt Patty used to work. Aunt Patty was the director of the children’s art studio at the Carnegie Museum of Art. She recently quit her job because she and Uncle Chris are moving to Missouri.

The cats represent our feline cousins: Muse (tuxedo girl), Rainbow (calico girl), Cinnamon (orange tabby male), and Toast (orange and white girl). The woofie on the bottom layer is our new woofie cousin, Bruiser. He is a beagle / basset hound mix, from a Pittsburgh rescue organization where Uncle Chris and Aunt Patty volunteer. Rainbow, Muse, and Bruiser live with Aunt Patty, and Cinnamon and Toast live with Uncle Chris.

The bicycle is because Uncle Chris likes to bicycle.

This is a picture of Aunt Patty and Uncle Chris cutting the wedding cake:

Grampa (Mom’s Dad) gave the blessing at the start of the wild party wedding reception:

Aunt Patty is holding her “gong” which makes sounds like a drum. She used it to get everyone’s attention. Aunt Patty was thanking everyone who came to their wedding and wild party reception. She was also telling all the Sticky Little People that there was an arts activity table where they could have fun, instead of being bored listening to grown-ups talking about boring stupid stuff:

Uncle Chris has two younger brothers, Steve (left) and Peter (right). Peter was called the “Best Man”. The lady is Andrea, Steve’s wife. They are having fun blowing bubbles.

Dad’s parents were also invited to Aunt Patty’s wedding. This is a picture of Mommy and Daddy posing with our other Gramma and Grampa:

Check out all the loot Aunt Patty and Uncle Chris got! I wonder if they got any catnip? Mom says I have to mention that the “card box” was made by Mom, Dad, and Gramma (Mom’s Mom). It’s the thing that looks like a cake. Whatever.

Mom said that she had fun dancing to music that she and Aunt Patty used to go out dancing to: Yaz, Erasure, Nitzer Ebb, Prince. And Mom said that a few people at the wild party reception had too many niptinis and acted silly.

Next time we will tell you all about the fun we had with Aunt Deb, who visited us and took care of us Furry Bambinos while Mom and Dad were at Aunt Patty and Uncle Chris’s wedding!

Sticky Little People! http://thefurrybambinos.com/fun-and-games/sticky-little-people http://thefurrybambinos.com/fun-and-games/sticky-little-people#respond Mon, 31 Dec 2007 00:35:48 +0000 http://thefurrybambinos.com/fun-and-games/sticky-little-people So far there is an extremely high correlation between Mom and Dad using the Rug-Sucking Monster and then visitors showing up. So we should have expected that after Mom and Dad dragged the Rug-Sucking Monster all over the downstairs yesterday morning, that we would be having visitors soon.

Mommy also gave us our pedicures yesterday morning. Daddy and Mommy put more of the Christmas nail cover thingys on Meerkat’s and my toe nails, to replace the ones that we managed to remove that fell off all by themselves.

Around lunch time yesterday, Mom and Dad went out. When they came back, they brought some visitors with them: Miss Edie, Mr. Scott, and their Sticky Little People, David and Jane.

Mr. Scott introduces me to Little Jane

Now, I have read about Sticky Little People on other cats’ blogs. So, I was a bit nervous about meeting them in person. I did not want them petting me funny or grabbing my tail. I was also a bit miffed that Mom and Dad did not consult The Furry Bambinos before permitting the Sticky Little People into the house for a visit.

I kept my distance from the Sticky Little Girl

Anyway, the Sticky Little People freaked me out initially. David walked around on his hind legs, and Jane sometimes walked on her hind legs, and sometimes on all fours. Jane was very interested in our water fountain and food dishes, but Miss Edie and Mr. Scott kept an eye on Jane and didn’t let her steal any of our food or water.

Padre sidesteps the Sticky Little Girl

After awhile, David decided to play with us. He took the neato pink boa feather toy and waved it around and ran around and laughed and squealed a lot. It was fun to chase David and the neato pink boa feather toy. David sure knows how to play!! And he doesn’t get tired as quickly as Daddy and Mommy do.

Young David teases me with the boa feather

Apparently, there is a cat-kitty named Fiowwwwnnnnna who lives with David, so I guess that is why he was so good at playing with us. Meerkat and I had a great time chasing the neato pink boa feather toy, and Padre even got into it too.

Meerkat catches the boa from Young David

When it was time for them to leave, David was having such a good time that he had to be carried out of the house, while kicking and screaming that he wanted to stay.

Padre, Meerkat, and I were worn out by the time Mr. Scott, Miss Edie, David, and Jane left. Mommy fed us our supper, and then I curled up in a ball on Mommy’s chair and went to sleep! Meerkat and Padre took power cat naps too.

For Sticky Little People, I have to say that I was totally and pleasantly surprised at how much fun they could be. Mr. Scott and Miss Edie must be very good human parents. If David and Jane are as much fun as they were yesterday, then they can come back anytime for more play dates!
