Mom Here: We don’t know when Padre’s birthday is, not even what year he was born. When we adopted Padre (and Panda Bear and Meerkat) six months ago, Padre’s age was estimated at between four and five years. So I chose today, six months from their adoption day, to celebrate Padre’s birthday. It seems appropriate to celebrate Padre’s birthday on Earth Day. Happy Earth Day everyone!
Now, I’ll hand things over to the Birthday Boy.
Hi Efurrybody! Padre here. As Mom said, today we are celebrating my birthday! So teleport on over. Both Mom and Dad have to leave for “work”, so there will be plenty of fun without them butting in! I’ll do my best serving up the niptinis, or if you prefer your nip in pure form, we’ve got that too! We’ve got lots of windows to study the birdies and squirrels from.
We also have lots of great napping spots, like this one on the sofa in the living room.

If you get sleepy watching the birdies out the back window, you can always take a nap here:
Or for some warmth and comfort, this cat bed is in the Mohawk and Clyde Shrine (bedroom where Mom’s computer is), and situated right next to the heat vent:
We have two sets of stairs, for playing Thundering Herds of Elephants!
I am putting Panda Bear on Parent Patrol, so he can let us know when Mom and Dad pull in the driveway after work.
Mom said that they will give me my presents after they get home from work, so I’ll post tomorrow with photos!

Yes! Roborovskis are the tiniest, pingiest and fastest and cutest (and also hardest to tame) of all the pet hamsters in the world… unlike an ordinary hamster that may grow to 7″, robos never exceed 2″ ~ ie they stay ultra tiny their whole lives through… like newborn kittens or puppies. Aww!!

To Gledwood, yes, “Padre” is Spanish for “father”. I have a white patch of fur on my neck, and Mom and Dad think it looks like I am wearing a priest’s collar, hence “Father” or “Padre”.

happy purrthday, padre! may you live many, many long healthy years (x 9)!! this is a furry nice party. the niptinis are juuuuuussssst right–so kind of you to provide such lishus grub an’ drinkies. we has brought a tray of real live dead shrimps an’ put it onna floor near the window seat wif the quirrsel-feeder view. that way, anycat who has some can work off a few calories watchin’ the quirrsels!
