Hi Efurrybody! Daddy loved all the birthday wishes you gave him. He received more wishes from all our feline friends than he received from all the beans he knows! Plus, you all set a record number for the number of comments on a single post here at our bloggy. My Daddy thanks you, my Mommy thanks you, Meerkat and Padre thank you, and most of all, I thank you for responding in such a big way!
Daddy had a great birthday. First we let him sleep real late. Then later he and Mommy went to a bookstore to “get bleary eyed”. When they got back, he explained to me that “getting bleary eyed” means “browsing in a bookstore so long that you go on visual overload and can’t see straight anymore”. Remember, Daddy wanted to do that! Sounds painful to me! Like I’ve said before, beans do STRANGE things!
After Mommy and Daddy got back, we gave Daddy our presents! Here are all the gifts we wrapped for him:
I did help sniff one of the gifts Mommy gave to Daddy. It was something called “Looney Toons DeeVeeDees”.
Daddy started singing all kinds of weird things as he flipped through this Looney Toon DeeVeeDees thing. “I’m a cute little bird in a gilded cage” … and … “Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime girl” … and … “Kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit!” Mommy sang along too. Beans are weird.
Then, Padre decided to help with the unwrapping.
Padre gave Daddy a pretty book with lots of pictures of boy and girl cats. There are some kitties, too, but mostly it’s boys and girls spending time together, walking, sitting, and playing. Some of them look like us Furry Bambinos!
Daddy said the pictures in the Cats in Love book were very pretty. I’ll investigate it while he’s asleep. The corners look very tasty.
Meerkat gave Daddy the gifts below. They is picture frames!
Meerkat told me she only wanted to give him one, because then he could have a picture of her anywhere he wanted. However, Mommy bought three. Meerkat was a little peeved at this. Mommy felt Daddy should get a picture frame for each of us, and I agree! So, that’s why dere is three of them! Daddy says he looks forward to finding pictures of us to put in the frames. Meerkat picked a great gift!
And then, Daddy got to open MY gift! My gift was the bestest! Here it is … ta da!
It’s a kit that beans can use to help identify cats by looking at their butts! The Cat Butts Mini-kit includes an informative field guide, magnets, and more! Daddy laughed very loud and long when he saw it! He said he thought it was the funniest thing in the world. Yay! I made Daddy laugh!
Daddy read some of the field guide out loud for Mommy to hear …
This booklet provides a small sampling of cat butt images and helpful hunting tips to help you get started with the wonderful hobby of “cat watching and identification through the butt”. The kit also includes a set of Cat Butt magnets that you can hang with pride on your refrigerator to show you are a true Cat Watcher.
… Sitting at a computer or reading a book are two ways to bait a cat. If there is a cat around and you are patient, he will inevitably walk up onto your lap or keyboard then suddenly raise up his tail and direct his hind quarters right towards your face. This is a perfect time to examine and identify the cat.”
I wasn’t sure if Daddy would like it at first, but we’re always showing our butts to him, and he always cleans up our litter boxes. And when I get mad at him for holding me back from biting Meerkat, or telling me “no, get down from there”, or teasing me with the birdie on a stick, I tell him to “Sniff my butt!” So, now I can tell him to “Go study your ‘Field Guide'”.
Daddy gave each of us a hug, a kiss on the head, and a few skritches on the neck, and he said he had “a great birthday”. We are glad we could give Daddy a great day. Thanks again to all of you who sent our Daddy birthday wishes!
We are glad to hear your dad had a great birthday! You all gave him some wonderful and funny gifts! The picture frames are wonderful and that field guide is hilarious!
Oh, that looks like a very wonderful birthday! I like the little picture frames, that was a great idea.
What a wonderful birthday for your dad ! and this butt book would be a nice gift for Mr. Gattino too ! He also is the litterbox cleaner !

Wow! That is a really cool book, the one about cat butts! I like to scale my dad–Mt. Daddy– and stick my butt in his face and also whapp his glasses with my tail. I did that tonight while he and Mom were watching the Futurama deee veee dee. I don’t think he really appreciated my effort, but he was nice to me. He even let me dig in his armpit, which is even better than catnip! Please tell your dad happy meow- meow from me!
