Panda Bear’s Posts

Sorry that we have not been blogging recently!  Mom has been too busy to help us blog much lately.  She has some really lame excuses, too:  cleaning the house for visitors, having visitors, getting sick.  Really lame excuses if you ask me.

Anyway, there have been lots of fun things going on around here lately!  Padre and Meerkat want to tell some of the stories too, so we agreed to each tell some of the things that have been going on here.

First, Mom got real busy rearranging things in the house.  She called it “tidying up”.  Well, it amounted to lots of moving things around, which of course, we had to sniff and snoopervise.  It was kind of entertaining to watch her scurry around and go up and down the stairs a lot.

Mom put newspapers into paper bags, which I climbed inside of to sniff, and to hang out in.  Mom kept adding more newspapers to the bags until I could not fit inside anymore.  And then Daddy carried the paper bags to the end of the driveway.  Daddy refers to the end of the driveway as “the curb”.  I have never personally gotten to sniff the curb, but it sounds interesting.  Then some big-ass very large truck drove by and took the paper bags away.

Now, all was well and good with the tidying up, until Mom and Daddy took out the gigantic Rug-Sucking Monster, and they took turns dragging it all over the house!  I was beginning to doubt my belief that this is a wonderful home, but I remembered that other kitties in the blogosphere also mentioned that their humans also utilize such a monster from time to time.

All this tidying up was apparently due to an impending “visit” from Aunt Patty and her boyfriend Chris.  Aunt Patty and Chris came to visit to help Mom celebrate becoming very old.  Mom said that she is now older than Jack Benny.  I dunno what she’s talking about.

Aunt Patty and Chris brought us a gift to celebrate Mom becoming very old.  It is called a mobile.  Aunt Patty said that the three kitties represent The Three Furry Bambinos!  Here is a photo of the mobile:

Daddy hung it from the ceiling fan thingy in the kitty feeding room.  I like to circle it and study it and think of ways to get it down.

Here is a picture of Aunt Patty holding me!

Aren’t we cute together?

Aunt Patty saw some of the juicy friendly looking squirrels dining outside the back door (Mom and Dad feed the squirrels every morning).  Aunt Patty thought that the squirrels were rather, well, uh, rotund.  She said the squirrels looked as big as beavers!  She called the squirrels the “beaver squirrels”.  Here is a photo of one of the squirrels enjoying his or her breakfast:

Padre, Meerkat, and I enjoyed the visit from Aunt Patty and Chris very much!

Hi everybody!

I was tagged by Tybalt the Prince of Cats and Tigger the F.B.I. Cat and by the cool kitties at The Cat Realm for the “Seven Weird or Interesting Things about You” Meme. I am so excited!!

Here are the Meme rules:
* Link to the cat who tagged you and post the rules on your blog
* Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself
* Tag 7 random cats at the end of your post & include links to their blogs
* Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog

1. I have only one eye. My right eye was stolen by a doctor when I was a wee kitten because I had an “infection”. Having one eye does not hinder me one bit when it comes to running or playing, though!

2. I was one of eight kittens born in my litter! Mom and Dad adopted two of us, my sister Meerkat, and myself.

3. I like to investigate everything I can. Once, I even investigated the indoor rain room and discovered Mommy in there!! Why would she want to get all wet like that?

4. I really like to eat. That is one of my favorite things to do. Mommy mentioned this to the Cat Bully (the doctor) the other day, and he called me “The Food Bully”. Now Daddy and Mommy have been calling me The Food Bully.

5. I prefer to eat cat food to eating treats like baby food. Of course, I show up and eat some of the baby food just so I am not left out of the fun.

6. I have found all sorts of “non-traditional” cat toys around the house here. I particularly enjoy playing with the dangly chain on Mommy’s lamp on her desk.

7. I like to chase my tail in unusual locations around the house: the landing at the top of the stairs leading down to the basement, the ledge above the basement stairs, inside the clothes hamper in Mommy and Daddy’s sleeping room, to name a few.

Now, I have to tag 7 others, but this will be a challenge, since I think many of the cats in the Cat Blogosphere have already played this game. So I tag Meerkat, and let her figure who to tag next!

I’ve been walking around with the sneezies.  Mommy and Daddy were worried that I had caught a sneezy from somewhere.  They said it might be left over from our days at the boarding school.  So, Mommy got all hyper and picked up part of the box that rings, pushed some buttons and made “an appointment”.  I’m not sure how you make such a thing because I didn’t see anything in her hands after.  I was suspicious because she did the same thing when Padre was hopping around on three legs.

We woke up last Wednesday and it was just like normal, although it seemed a little later in the morning than usual.  We got lots of stinky goodness and Meerkat and I played a game of bitey.

Next thing I know, Daddy put me and Meerkat in the pink portable room-box and took us outside to the white teleporter machine!!!!

Meerkat and me were very worried that Mommy and Daddy didn’t like us anymore and were taking us to a new forever home, so we stayed very quiet like the very good kitties that we are.  I think that freaked out Mommy and Daddy that we were so quiet.  (Heh, heh, heh.)

Pretty soon the white teleporter stopped shaking and making noise and Mommy carried us into some different building.  She put us on a shelf of some kind while she and Daddy talked to some other beans about us.

Waiting Patiently for a Consult

They took us out of the portable box and put us on some big flat thing one at a time.  When they put me on it, they said “7.8”.  When they put Meerkat on it, they said “6.4”.  Then they took us to a little yellow room with Mommy and Daddy and closed the door.

That’s when we began to investigate!  Meerkat tried to look on top of the cabinets …

Investigating the Room

… and then Mommy grabbed us for a photo op!  This is the first time we’ve been able to post a picture of Mommy.  I smiled as best I could.  Meerkat wanted to escape.

 We pose with Mom

Then Daddy put us on some kind of floating counter.  We were a bit upset about the cat in the photograph looking down at us.  It was like he was saying “Behave! Behave!  Or you’ll end up on the wall like me!”

How did that cat get up there?

Then a man in a white jacket came in the room and started squeezing us and talking nice.  He was friendly.

Mommy told the man in the white jacket that I like to make sure all the food bowls are clean at eating time, so the man called me a “FOOD BULLY”!  That sounds like a good title for me … Panda Bear:  Food Bully Extraordinaire!

Then he took me into another room and shoved something in my rear end!!!  How dare he do that when I wasn’t looking!  The man in the white jacket is a CAT BULLY!

Then the Cat Bully took me back to Mommy and Daddy and Meerkat.  Then he grabbed Meerkat and went away with her!  She told me later that the Cat Bully did the same to her!  What a mean Cat Bully!

Then Mommy and Daddy put us back into the pink portable room-box and took us back to the white teleporter machine. When we got home, Padre was not very happy to see us. Apparently he thought he was rid of us! He proceeded to hide out in the basement. He did not want to play with us and was hisses at us when we tried to play with him. Padre is still a poop-head.

Meerkat and I are glad to be home. And we are very glad that Mommy and Daddy still want to provide our furrever home for us.

That big grey cat just doesn’t know how to have fun, man.  All he wants to do is sit around, take naps, and look out the big tall windows at the squirrels and birds.  He needs to get a life.

There is so much fun stuff to do around here and “Pious Padre” just sits there staring out that window, flashing his white tuft of fur.

Here’s a list of just a few of the ways to have fun, that do not involve staring out the window:

1. Chase Meerkat around the house

2. Get chased by Meerkat

3. Put the bitey on Meerkat’s head

4. Sniff Padre’s butt

5. Lie down really close to Padre, just to tick him off

6. Chase my tail inside the Kalahari-Themed-Duplex-Cat-Cubes with the intention of tipping the whole thing over on its end

7. Chase my tail on the landing that goes down to our poop boxes in the basement

8. Play chase the bird on a string with Dad

9. Climb all over Dad’s head at 2:00 am

10. Help Dad when he needs to work in his office by climbing all over him

11. Play with the nip filled toys Dad and Mom brought home

… and much more!

“Pious Padre” just doesn’t know have to fun!  He takes his white clerical collar look just a little too far!

Woo-hoo!!!!  My sister and I have been adopted at last!!

On Monday the nice man and lady who visited us over the weekend came back to visit us again.  This time they did a lot of talking to the principals about getting us out of this boarding school and home schooling us instead.

My sister and I (and our six other brothers and sisters) were born in May under some lady’s porch.  Our Mama Cat protected us from the lady, but one day the lady noticed how sick we were and took us to a doctor to get better.  Then the doctor stole my eye and wouldn’t give it back!!  They said something about an “infection” and “blind” and the next thing you know, I have a permanent wink.  My sister was given all kinds of medications, and one of our other sisters had both of her eyes stolen!!  After being at the hospital, we stayed at a different lady’s house, inside this time, and she called herself “FosterMom”.

Just when we started to get comfortable at FosterMom’s house, she enrolled us in boarding school!!  We stayed there for a little while and then FosterMom came back to visit us and told us that we would soon be going to “our furrever home”.  I guess that meant that we would be graduating from boarding school.

This nice man and lady came to visit us and they played with us and then we got ready to graduate.  For the graduation ceremony, the man and lady put a very small portable room out for us to see.  My sister and I walked right in to investigate!  How were we to know that they would lock the door behind us?  But now we know for next time…

There was a big grey kitty that graduated from boarding school with us, and got adopted by the nice man and lady.  Luckily he got his own portable room to himself, as there wasn’t any room left in ours.

All of us let the man and lady know we were not happy about the cramped quarters.  The next thing you know, it was very dark and it felt like the whole world was moving!  After a while, the world stopped moving, and the man and lady carried the portable rooms into their house.

The man and the lady let out the big grey kitty first and let him explore.  Sister and I complained about this grave injustice, and eventually we got let out too.

Wow, are there a lot of places to explore and play here!  They even have two sets of stairs for us to play Thundering Herd of Elephants!!  And there are even these really cool hurdles between some of the doorways for me to get lots of practice with my high jump!

So that’s the story of my life so far.  Luckily the nice man and lady have lots of computers here.  So I should not have much trouble getting onto the Internet to blog, what with Big Grey Kitty and Sister also wanting to blog.

I think we’re gonna like it here.
