last weekend mommy and daddy visited one of their favorite cat supply stores called “coventry cats“. it is in cleveland heights, ohio, on this hippie street called coventry.
mommy had seen that other kitties in the blogosphere have the catnip bananer, and have raved about it. so when she saw that there were catnip bananers for sale at coventry cats, she got us one. operative word being “one”.
mommy and daddy let padre sniff it first. well, of course, panda bear and i had to investigate this new toy, too.
that’s when padre got, uh, shall we say, “overprotective” and downright possessive of the catnip bananer. well, i wasn’t going to take that sitting down, nosirree. so i let padre have it!
when panda bear tried to take the bananer from padre, the two of them also got into a spat:
who knew padre, of all cats, would be such a mean drunk?
eventually mommy and daddy took the bananer away from us and putted it way up high on a bookcase. harrumph!
Mom Here: Have any of you kitties in the blogosphere had a similar reaction to the catnip in the “Nip Banana”? Maybe we just found a really potent one. The Bambinos have gotten worked up over other catnip toys, but this nip bananer brought out the worst in all of them!

Oooooo, I lurve mai nip nanner an Iz had myn fur a long tym too. I still whap dat stoopid woofie wen he gets too close to its. I whaps him, giv him a hissy, an sez NO SHADOW DATS MYN! I guess it makes me a wittle angwy drunk too, but its MYN.
Oooh! That is a great store and Coventry is a fun street! I think we need to send Mommy & Daddy there to get us TWO catnip bananers!!!!
Yes! Those catnip bananers and cigars are potent. It makes me and EG FREAK OUT! hee hee
That’s why those catnip bananers are so good, they are very STRONG! You might need to get a couple more I think.

Mmmm boy, I do love me some catnip bananers. Next time you’re in the neighborhood of Coventry Cats, you’ll know to get enough for everykitty, lest there be more Bambino whapping.
In the meantime, Padre has seniority, so IMO he should always have first crack at the bananer.
Your humans should have gotten a bananer for each of you. At my home, I don’t have to share ANYTHING.
We can get squabblie over nip toys so momma always has more than one to play with. I’m not as big for nip as Empress, so unless it’s REALLY strong stuff I usually don’t go nutso over it. If we get loose nip momma puts it in two separate cubes on either side of the room so we can roll and play to our hearts content without fighting. My suggestion, 3 naners!
