Sorry that we have not been blogging recently!  Mom has been too busy to help us blog much lately.  She has some really lame excuses, too:  cleaning the house for visitors, having visitors, getting sick.  Really lame excuses if you ask me.

Anyway, there have been lots of fun things going on around here lately!  Padre and Meerkat want to tell some of the stories too, so we agreed to each tell some of the things that have been going on here.

First, Mom got real busy rearranging things in the house.  She called it “tidying up”.  Well, it amounted to lots of moving things around, which of course, we had to sniff and snoopervise.  It was kind of entertaining to watch her scurry around and go up and down the stairs a lot.

Mom put newspapers into paper bags, which I climbed inside of to sniff, and to hang out in.  Mom kept adding more newspapers to the bags until I could not fit inside anymore.  And then Daddy carried the paper bags to the end of the driveway.  Daddy refers to the end of the driveway as “the curb”.  I have never personally gotten to sniff the curb, but it sounds interesting.  Then some big-ass very large truck drove by and took the paper bags away.

Now, all was well and good with the tidying up, until Mom and Daddy took out the gigantic Rug-Sucking Monster, and they took turns dragging it all over the house!  I was beginning to doubt my belief that this is a wonderful home, but I remembered that other kitties in the blogosphere also mentioned that their humans also utilize such a monster from time to time.

All this tidying up was apparently due to an impending “visit” from Aunt Patty and her boyfriend Chris.  Aunt Patty and Chris came to visit to help Mom celebrate becoming very old.  Mom said that she is now older than Jack Benny.  I dunno what she’s talking about.

Aunt Patty and Chris brought us a gift to celebrate Mom becoming very old.  It is called a mobile.  Aunt Patty said that the three kitties represent The Three Furry Bambinos!  Here is a photo of the mobile:

The Kitty Mobile

Daddy hung it from the ceiling fan thingy in the kitty feeding room.  I like to circle it and study it and think of ways to get it down.

Here is a picture of Aunt Patty holding me!

Patty and Panda Bear

Aren’t we cute together?

Aunt Patty saw some of the juicy friendly looking squirrels dining outside the back door (Mom and Dad feed the squirrels every morning).  Aunt Patty thought that the squirrels were rather, well, uh, rotund.  She said the squirrels looked as big as beavers!  She called the squirrels the “beaver squirrels”.  Here is a photo of one of the squirrels enjoying his or her breakfast:

Padre, Meerkat, and I enjoyed the visit from Aunt Patty and Chris very much!

we were tagged by Tybalt the Prince of Cats and tigger the f.b.i. cat for the “seven weird or interesting things about you” meme. thanks!

here are the meme rules:
* link to the cat who tagged you and post the rules on your blog
* share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself
* tag 7 random cats at the end of your post & include links to their blogs
* let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog

1. i love temptations treats! i also love baby food which the mommy lady feeds to us when she is home in the middle of the day. therefore, i also like it when the mommy lady is home in the middle of the day!

2. mostly, i prefer to make what the mommy lady refers to as “chirpy trilly sounds” rather than meowing. this is part of the reason that the mommy lady and the daddy decided to name me meerkat. i have only just begun to practice my meowing, and i’m 6 months old now.

3. i was born under a porch in may of this year. i also got the eye infection that two of my siblings got. my brother panda bear lost his right eye to the infection, and our sister nod lost both of her eyes. fortunately, i have both my eyes, with just a little scarring on my right eye.

4. i am a tabby girl, with both butterscotch-gold and brown-grey stripes.

5. when i eat, i prefer to eat with my mouth open, like my namesake meerkats of the kalahari desert.

6. i like to sit on the mommy lady’s desk while she works on the computer. the lamp light keeps me warm. like my brother panda bear, i also enjoy playing with the lamp cord.

7. i like to jump very high and do acrobatics while playing the chase-the-bird-on-a-string game with the daddy. daddy is very fun to play games with!

Meerkat - The Flying Bambino!

now i tag castor and pollux of the meezer brothers and my adopted brother padre to do the 7 interesting things meme.

daddy added a new feature to our blog which sounds fun.

sometimes you might forget to come read what we have been up to.  so, daddy made it so that you can now get an email update every time we post a new entry here.

he says you’ll just get an email every time we write something, and you’ll get it the next day, sometime in the early morning.

daddy’s nice like that sometimes.

Hi everybody!

I was tagged by Tybalt the Prince of Cats and Tigger the F.B.I. Cat and by the cool kitties at The Cat Realm for the “Seven Weird or Interesting Things about You” Meme. I am so excited!!

1. I have only one eye. My right eye was stolen by a doctor when I was a wee kitten because I had an “infection”. Having one eye does not hinder me one bit when it comes to running or playing, though!

2. I was one of eight kittens born in my litter! Mom and Dad adopted two of us, my sister Meerkat, and myself.

3. I like to investigate everything I can. Once, I even investigated the indoor rain room and discovered Mommy in there!! Why would she want to get all wet like that?

4. I really like to eat. That is one of my favorite things to do. Mommy mentioned this to the Cat Bully (the doctor) the other day, and he called me “The Food Bully”. Now Daddy and Mommy have been calling me The Food Bully.

5. I prefer to eat cat food to eating treats like baby food. Of course, I show up and eat some of the baby food just so I am not left out of the fun.

6. I have found all sorts of “non-traditional” cat toys around the house here. I particularly enjoy playing with the dangly chain on Mommy’s lamp on her desk.

Panda Bear swatting the lamp cord

7. I like to chase my tail in unusual locations around the house: the landing at the top of the stairs leading down to the basement, the ledge above the basement stairs, inside the clothes hamper in Mommy and Daddy’s sleeping room, to name a few.

Now, I have to tag 7 others, but this will be a challenge, since I think many of the cats in the Cat Blogosphere have already played this game. So I tag Meerkat, and let her figure who to tag next!

the furry bambinos want to know … did you get to eat turkey on “turkey day”?  take our new bambino poll over on the right side of the screen and answer!

we got turkey.  padre was a food bully about it.  he ate his, then he ate mine, and then he ate panda bear’s.

but me and panda bear didn’t really care.  me and panda bear didn’t really like it all that much.  it was too dry for my taste.  so really, i let padre eat mine.

Belated Happy Thanksgiving, efurryone!

Yesterday was Thanksgiving, the day when all good kitties get their fill of turkey, and not the kind that comes out of a can, either. Mom and Dad obliged and prepared a turkey dinner for us (and for themselves as well).

When the turkey was done cooking I stayed nearby to signal that I was ready. Dad carved the turkey, and then Mom sliced it into kitty-sized pieces for the hoodlums and me.

Thanksgiving Turkey Carving

Words cannot describe my surprise… the hoodlums did not want to eat their portions of real fresh honest to goodness turkey! Well, I never… I wonder if these two are really felines, or just imposters.

Padre eats all the turkey on Thanksgiving!

Either way, I ate the turkey that Mom put into their bowls, after finishing my portion off. More for me!

I had a greeeaat morning last Wednesday!  First, Daddy shoved Panda Bear and Meerkat into the pink portable box and closed the gate.  Then Daddy and Mommy took them away!  I was so happy I finally had the house all to myself!

I sniffed and sniffed all around.  I went downstairs and I went upstairs.  I explored and I sniffed places I don’t normally go because Panda Bear always follows me.  I don’t want to bore you with the litany of places I explored, but let’s just say I had a great time!  And I got such deep sleep!

But, it didn’t last long.  Mommy and Daddy came back after a while, and UNFORTUNATELY, they brought Panda Bear and Meerkat back too.  They all smelled different … in fact, they smelled like the place I went to for my war injury.

The Kittens Come Home

I hissed and spat at them, and ran downstairs.  Of course, PANDA BEAR FOLLOWED ME!  Why can’t he just leave me alone sometimes????  Ugh, I thought I was rid of them! But now they’re back!
