Hi everyfurry!  It’s me, Cookie!  My sister Caramel and I are back from our stay at boarding school at Parma PetSmart. Caramel and I shared a room.

PapaDave came and took us home on Saturday evening.  When we got home, he gave each of us a bath. This is me during my bath:

PapaDave used sweet smelling baby shampoo!  This is Caramel getting her bath.  She does not look very happy, because all her floofy furs got wet and made her look much smaller.

Now we look and smell all pretty.

We asked PapaDave where MamaSue was.  He said that she was visiting her Mommy, Daddy, and brother.  They live far away. Last weekend on Sunday afternoon, MamaSue came home to Casa Furry Bambino.

When she got here, she opened the door to our apartment so that we could mingle with the Big Kitties again.  I like to mingle with the Big Kitties, but sometimes they can be grumpy.  Especially the Female Big Kitty named Meerkat.  Sometimes Caramel or I accidentally run into Meerkat.  Then she gets all growly and then she smacks us and hisses.  The handsome tuxedo kitty is a little nicer, but sometimes he hisses at us too.  He and I had a nice talk one night over drinks on the dining room table.

The Big Grey Kitty is the nicest of all of the Big Kitties, but he kind of keeps to himself.  I would like to get to know him better, but I get the idea that he is spoken for.

For Father’s Day, the Big Kitties, and Caramel and me, got some nice gifts for PapaDave.  Well, Mama Sue helped.  She went to the store for us, but she brought back just what we knew PapaDave would like.  Caramel is sitting on PapaDave’s lap as he opened his gifts.

That was a cool mousie that rolls on the floor.  Panda Bear studied the mousie and discovered that it was not a real mousie, but it was still fun.

We also gave PapaDave a feather on a stick toy.  See how much fun PapaDave had playing with Panda Bear and Meerkat with it?

All five of us kittehs are in this photo.  Left to right, Meerkat, PapaDave, me (Cookie), Caramel, Padre, and Panda Bear.  MamaSue is not in the picture because she is taking the picture.  But those are her shoes next to Panda Bear.

Lots of exciting things have been happening lately, so we will post more another time.  Bye for now!

if you give Cookie a mouse, she won’t let it go.  she won’t share it with the other kittehs.  she won’t follow the protocol here at casa furry bambino, which is to SHARE the mouse.  the protocol is that we each get a turn to play with the mouse, bat it around, carry it in our teeths, you know, rough it up a little.

instead, if you give Cookie a mouse, she won’t let it go.  when the other kittehs surround her asking for their turn, Cookie will hold onto the mouse and growl.

The moral to the story is don’t give Cookie a mouse.

in other news, we are ashamed to admit that we missed giving our friend Miss Tammy Faye a proper birthday greeting.  sorry that it’s late, but here’s wishing her the best!

Greetings! Our dear friend Poppy Q from New Zealand gave us this beautiful award some time ago. We are just now posting about it. We are very fond of Poppy Q, and adore reading her blog and learning about life in New Zealand, oh so far away.

This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY – nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

We are grateful for the award from Poppy Q, but feel unworthy because we have not been good kitteh blogging friends of late. Perhaps we should explainify why we haven’t been visiting as often as we would like.

About a year ago, Mommy began taking on some new responsibilities where she works, including training a new bean. At about the same time, Mommy’s sister (Aunt Patty) was getting married. Shortly after Aunt Patty and Uncle Chris got married, they moved to Missouri. You may remember that we blogged about their wedding, reception, and move. Mommy and Daddy helped Aunt Patty and Uncle Chris, and our cousins Rainbow, Muse, Cinnamon, Toast, and Bruiser move to Missouri.

When Mommy got back to work, she had to hire another two new beans, for a total of three newbeans in five months. So Mommy was busy all day training and then spent most evenings and weekends doing her own work. Which did not leave enough time for us, Daddy, or blogging! Now, the three new beans are just about through with training, so now Mommy can do more of her own work in the daytime, and spend more time with us on the weekends!

So we have been trying to get caught up reading blogs and finding out what all we missed in the Cat Blogosphere. We really appreciate those of you who have continued to follow our blog, and to leave us comments, without our doing much to reciprocate. You make us laugh and smile and cry and be grateful to be part of this wondrous network known as the Cat Blogosphere.

Honestly, ya’d think they never get fed!

When the fosters first got here, we got fed separately.  We big kittehs got fed downstairs in the kitty feeding room (AKA fambly room) in peace and privacy.  The fosters got fed upstairs in their room.

However, now that the fosters Cookie and Caramel Hoover and Oreck have been mingling with us for the past month, we all get fed downstairs. Either the COG (Can Opener Guy) or the COL (Can Opener Lady) prepares our food for us in the kitchen. The big kittehs eat in the kitty feeding room. The fosters are fed in the human feeding room.

Well, we big kittehs like to TASTE our food, savor it, ya know?  But Hoover and Oreck just suck down their food and then come over to our bowls for more.  While we’re still eating!!

Just read these quotes from the Oreck and Hoover web sites:

It [Oreck] is so light and not hard to carry. It has very good suction, and I feel like it is getting my rug clean. It adjusts from room to room automatically.

… great performance in a little package! … it [Hoover Nano Lite] has great suction …

… my Oreck is so easy to use and light weight and feels as though it is self propelled.

Tell me kittehs, does this describe Caramel and Cookie, or what?

Greetings! Daisy and Harley’s Mom, Parker’s Mom, and Fin’s Mom have done the Mommy Meme recently. It was so much fun to learn about their mommies, that the Furry Bambinos decided to let me play too. Here are the rules:

Either:

(a) post 7 facts about yourself AND photos OR

(b) post 10 facts about yourself with no photos, OR

(c) post a childhood picture of yourself.

Since I am the type of person who likes to bend the rules when it makes sense to do so, here are some facts about myself, and some photos.

1. I grew up in Pittsburgh PA, City of Champions!! Go Steelers!! Go Pens!! (I’m not a baseball fan.)

2. I have always been a geek, even before it was cool to say that. (It’s probably still not cool, and I am so uncool that I don’t know that.) In the third grade, I alphabetized my books by author’s last name, and have done so ever since. Growing up, I was inspired by Marie Curie, and wanted to be a scientist like her. I love science shows like NOVA and things on the Discovery Channel. MythBusters rocks! This photo is from my First Communion. That’s my Aunt Stell with me. Below that is a photo of my family.

3. I went to high school and college in the 80’s, era of big hair, cool alternative music, and ugly clothes. To this day, I still feel pressure to match my socks to my sweater or shirt. Below are my high graduation photo, with my parents at high school grad party, and senior prom photo (I’m the short one in the bright blue).

4. I went to college at Case Western Reserve University. No, it’s NOT a military school. I changed majors from biomedical engineering to BS chemistry after the first two years.

5. While in college, I volunteered at the college radio station. I got my FCC license to do a radio show before I got my driver’s license.

6. I live in enemy territory (see fact 1) because I met this really nice guy through the college radio station (see facts 4 and 5). After graduation, I stayed in town because he was here. We dated for seven years before getting married. We have been married for almost thirteen years.  (Yes, that is a real waterfall, not a studio backdrop.)

7. I work as a Data Manager at a university. What that means is I design databases and data entry screens for medical research studies. I also prepare data sets for statisticians to analyze.

8. The people I supervise at work think I’m sooooo old. “Wow, you were alive for the first Moon Landing!” This is with my sister, brother, and Dad.  I’m a firstborn, so I’m the tallest child in the photo.

9) I love to garden. However, living in northeast O-Hi-O, the gardening season is quite short, so I have to maximize every opportunity during the non-snow months of June, July, August, and September.  If the Bambinos let me, I will do a separate post about my garden.

10) I volunteer for a local animal rescue group called PAWS (Public Animal Welfare Society). A few months after adopting The Furry Bambinos, who had been in the PAWS foster system, my husband and I began volunteering at events.  Now he does transports (transporting woofies and kittehs to and from the V-E-T, to and from PetSmart locations, etc.), and we are fostering two kittens, Cookie and Caramel.

This has been a lot of fun! I would like to tag the following Mommies:

Poppy Q’s Mum

Miles, Sammy, and Billy SweetFeets’ The Mom Lady Person

Titus, Tazo, and Earl Grey’s The Mom

Everyone, please play along if you are so inspired!

Hi Everyfurry!!  It’s Cookie the foster kitten here!

I have been enjoying living here at Casa Furry Bambino with my sister Caramel.  At first Caramel and I stayed in our apartment upstairs, but now we are free to roam about the house.

It has been fun getting to try out new and creative napping locations.  Recently I took a nap on the big people bed, and the pawparazzi snapped a photo of me:

Apparently, this postion is known as “The Full Monty”, so I will enter this photo in Monty Q’s contest.

In other news, I am a little bit worried.  Apparently, Mommy likes to (gasp!) eat cookies!  And she likes to eat caramel, too!  She has never tried to nibble us, but I am still a bit nervous.

Greetings, everyfurry! Sorry that we have not posted in a while. Lots of things have been happening here at Casa Furry Bambino, so I will give you a brief update.

Mom dug up some dirt in the front yard and planted some stuff.

The nice people who live next door adopted a tuxedo kitten!

Mom and Dad went to visit Gramma and Grampa in August.  Mom and Dad took Cookie and Caramel with them.  Mom and Dad and Gramma went to a festival called a “Llama Plop”.

Grampa had surgery in August, so Mom and Dad visited Gramma and Grampa again.

Introoder kitty, AKA “Blackberry” has been introoding in our back yard!

Mom and Dad visited our friend Tammy Faye while her parents were out of town.

Mom and Dad visited our new friends, Clarence and Alabama, while their parents were out of town.

We’ll tell you more about each of these exciting events in our next few posts.  Just wanted to let ya’ll know we’re still blogging!

And, we have a Big Announcement. Coming soon to a Furry Bambino blog near you.
